Postado hoje no Banana Forum
Trains modeling. Please pay attention for the shadows.
It isn’t pre-rendering, it is a real time self-shading feature of 3D engine.
On the trains and cars all wheels and levers on wheels are working.

Weathering of the aircraft in time.
When you entering a career you’ll get the new aircraft (or partially used).
Then with each flight your aircraft will be in constant changes of conditions… you will see in a sequence of missions.
It isn’t only about how it looks, but also about performance of aircraft (new and used – are different).

Notícias Bod/Cro ... erhhh "fresquinhas" :D do Tio Oleg(ário)?

Today I would like to show Enduser Editor for modifications of maps. Please take in attention that textures shown there are not final and some - simply will be other…
I simply would like to show how will be easy to modify map for different purposes or for more precise modeling of some regions, etc. Right now will show only several functions:

A revista PC Pilot publicou uma entrevista com o Oleg falando do SoW:BoB:

Um resumo - feito por um leitor - desta entrevista:
In summary Oleg says he aims for release sometime next year. As I cannot load all 5 pages of the PC Pilot article I will try and summarise for you guys.
There will be 32 plus aircraft types of which 10 will be flyable. Non flyable types shown in the article are Tiger Moth Swordfish Sunderland and Bf108 as well as flyable Bf109 Spitfire Hurricane Bf110 Ju88 He111 and Beaufighter models.
The delays are due to detailed development of aircraft details both internal and external, damage effects, etc. For example in 2001 Il2 contained 2000 polygons for a single engined aircraft BOB uses 25000 which have taken time to research and insert.
Similarly the ground features will be more detailed with players able to man AA guns, land and refuel and rearm aircraft once during a mission. Manual startup has been left out but the player can choose from various missions during a battle. He can affect the battle outcome but not the war.
Graphics and flight models have been built from scratch. AI will also have more variations and become more humanised and less predictable with each pilot making many more variable decisions such as panic, get angry or frightened, make mistakes, or stay calm.
Weather fronts will be as challenging as fighting so enticing you to read the reports before hand.
There will be a Maddox approved set of options and the game will be able to store add ons by other parties which players can use or section off in offline or online play as required. These may include new aircraft objects and maps.
Bob will support the latest technology including multi core processors and Track IR6DoF.
Oleg has obviously studied our comments and taken them into account. He is looking to the future expansion of the game rather than making a quick buck thus the prolonged start to ensure the basic system is in place.
It seems like the immersion factor and expansion factor will hit a new high so should be well worth waiting for.

As mudanças do tempo (clima) serão desafiadoras.

Hi,

You may see again some very interesting details.
Modeling of AAA in our new simulator means following (for example):
Say, if the electricity generator of search light will be destroyed, then the search light wouldn’t work… then the effectiveness of anti aircraft guns also wouldn't be good.
We are developing the simulation of ground AAA support in all areas, including radars, High Command, etc. It will work as a system: damage of one will have result in other.
Also would remind that British and German radar systems will have different purpose as it was in reality.

Image

Ream and refuel...

Will bomber copilot seat be flyable online: YES
Will player be able to switch off friendly fire from other player/AI gunners: YES
Bomber gunners will call out fighter sightings
Radar and AI vision will respect 'line of sight' ie geographical features can block them
Road traffic will be modelled, but dialled down because of framerate hit at launch. Similar for life on airfields. "Buses already now can travel by their own trajectory in a city and make stops as well cars will try to find place for parking in a end "waypoint".
Destroying objects at airfields will limit the availability of their resources (eg fuel dumps). Cratered landing fields will also be unoperable for a time until slowly repaired.
Online play graphics will be optimised for 'medium' systems and settings, so that using a high power PC or high res settings will not equate to a 'cheat'.
Players will be able to join Coop missions after mission start if there is a free slot
Land based AA guns will be mannable at release, not naval guns
No decision has been made on whether wing icing will be modelled
Not all 3D cockpit switches will be operable "this is only for masochists", but eg switching fuel tanks will be.
AA crews will randomly 'panic' when strafed, ie fire wildly, abandon their weapons
GUI will 'probably' allow user to choose from different historical loadouts, and damage/range etc of individual shells/bombs will be historically modelled
Engine coolant lines can be damaged
Random mechanical failure is modelled but can be switched off in the GUI
Because the main use of the sim is expected to be online play, significant attention will not be given to real life modelling of eg start up procedures.
Fuel consumption will be precisely modelled
Bailouts will still be in 3D external viewpoint
Gunners will be limited by G Forces just like pilots
Turrets have two positions: rest and action (ie when engaged will scan the sky for fighters)
Control surfaces on other aircraft will move visably at close distances
Ship damage will be modelled in complex fashion and ship rescues by aircraft will be modelled in missions
Unlike BOBII, no lifeboats or rafts in the water after ships are sunk

Maddox also provided a little more detail on map editing in SOW. User Xilon_x asked how the map editor would function, and whether it would be a 'serious map editor for a serious sim', allowing the user to model altitude and landscape, or something more basic like SIM CITY.

Oleg replied the map editor in SOW would be nothing like SIM CITY. It would allow the user satellite precision in map building using the available tools, but would also allow players to create fast online maps either using the available textures, or adding their own textures.

The Storm of War expansion concept

We are trying to make not a single game, but a series of expansions, like we did with Pacific Fighters in the past. Either stand alone, or merged with the previous release, beginning from Battle of Britain. Personally I plan to expand beyond WWII and finally to model the Russian front at a new level.

After BoB we plan to make an area never yet modelled and it should be on the market a year or so after BoB.

But our first target after the release of BoB is to release end user tools that will allow them to incorporate new planes, ground vehicles, ships etc in the sim. We would like to create an industry around it, like it is around MS FS. This is a strong point of MS FS in the market. However we understand the problems of this approach and we are doing it with the target of not allowing any cheating online.

I think that MG will move forward with WWII, and we also will move forward to the jet era. This is one of variants in future. Another is WWI. But we at MG will stay long enough with WWII. At least I hope so.

There is a Korea sim in development. Probably it will not be possible to merge Korea with BoB, but within the limits of online play it should be possible to move aircraft from one to the other. But the main programmer hasn't confirmed that for me, and I should also check it with the marketing guys…I think you know what I mean.
